Dr. Catherine Carr

Dr. Catherine Carr is a Leadership and Team Coach and an author. She has been a principal partner in Carr, Kline & Associates for 6 years and specializes in leadership coaching, individual and team 360’s, group and team coaching, coach training and supervision, and facilitation. She has additional expertise in psychotherapy.

Catherine is the Resilience at Work Canadian Consortium Lead, Institute for Workplace Dynamics, Canadian Partner, Assistant Faculty for the International Systemic Team Coaching Training Program, one of the first 2018 Certified Designing Your Life Coaches, and a Master Corporate Coach with the Association of Corporate Executive Coaches. Catherine Carr completed a doctorate in 2012 in Leadership and Professional Coaching with Middlesex University, UK, winning the Goulding award for most outstanding professional doctorate of 2012.

Catherine is a highly accomplished executive and systemic team coach and thought leader in the field who is passionate about helping individuals and teams reach their full potential. Her warm and skillful approach has earned her a reputation for successfully driving individual, team, and organizational change. As an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Catherine is committed to meeting the unique needs of different groups of people. Her extensive client portfolio includes small businesses, large health organizations, resource industries, university sectors, not-for-profit organizations, elite athletes, and Indigenous agencies.

Catherine’s expertise spans individual psychology to C-Suite and team of teams work, including leading self, leading others, and leading across organizations. Recent assignments have included organizational leadership development and/or systemic team coaching for C-Suite teams at a commercial market insurance firm, working with Advent C suite teams, a large police organization, Indigenous child welfare and wellness organization, and a Deputy team for an industrial, commercial, and investment assessment corporation.

As a thought leader and influencer in the coaching field, Catherine leads several programs and initiatives. She is the North America Lead for Systemic Team Coaching, Head of Program with the Global Team Coaching Institute, and North American Lead for Resilience@Work. Additionally, Catherine is a Team Coaching Supervisor and Faculty member with Royal Roads University's Masters in Executive Coaching Program. She is one of two Canadian Master Trainers for Conflict Dynamics and holds certifications in EQ-i, Leadership Circle, Team Connect 360, other 360’s and Stakeholder Centred Coaching.

Catherine's extensive qualifications include being a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation with over 10,000 hours in coaching. She is also a holder of the Master Individual, Team, Mentor Coach, and Supervisor with EMCC, a Master Corporate Executive Coach with the Association of Corporate Coaches, and a Registered Psychotherapist. Catherine has co-authored several publications, including High-Performance Team Coaching and 50 Tips for Terrific Teams, and contributed recent chapters on team coaching effectiveness, research, case studies, and team coaching ethics.

Catherine holds a B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Studies, a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and a Doctorate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Development. She resides in Victoria, BC, Canada, with her family, and in her free time, she enjoys running, practicing yoga, playing guitar, and traveling. Catherine is grateful for the opportunity to do work that supports people to be well, live well, and meaningfully contribute to our world.
